For whom and why

Alinea can be used from the start of reading and writing education. Given the range of study tools, Alinea is also very suitable for use in secondary and higher education, where digital versions of the textbooks are often not available. Alinea helps people to read more smoothly, write fewer mistakes, understand texts faster and study more easily.

How does it work

Alinea provides support for reading, writing and studying in various ways, such as:

• Having texts read aloud | Alinea reads scanned books and other texts with synthetic voices in four different languages, namely Dutch, English, French and German. The reading tempo can be adjusted in twenty speeds. The program reads single words, lines, sentences, paragraphs or the entire text.
• Scanning | The built-in scanning function makes it possible to have texts on paper read aloud.
• Writing | Alinea supports writing texts in all computer programs in which text can be typed, such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel via, among other things, spell check, verb support and reading aloud during and after typing.
• Studying | Alinea has a Van Dale explanatory pocket dictionary, picture dictionary and Van Dale pocket translation dictionaries. Alinea allows you to look up difficult words, check verb conjugation, highlight texts, and create summaries by extracting the highlighted parts to a document.
