ColorSay is a so-called color scanner for the iPhone and is optimized to work with the iPhone's VoiceOver function. Users point the camera at a color and then hear out loud which color it is. ColorSay knows the names of colors in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Turkish, Russian, Chinese and Japanese.
The app specifically targets users with color blindness.
After installing the app, point your iPhone's camera at a color. You’ll hear out loud which color it is. You can determine how many shades of color the app should recognize. The minimum setting is sixteen colors, which gives you very understandable color names. If you choose the maximum of 386 recognizable colors, you might get unclear color names at times.
ColorSay is available in the Apple App Store. You purchase the application once.
