Kurzweil

Description

Kurzweil is compensatory software for reading and writing problems such as dyslexia. The program reads files containing text, reads the words as you type and has a word predictor that helps you write difficult words.

For whom and why

Kurzweil can be used from the start of reading and writing education to support reading, learning, writing and studying. The program grows up with you until the completion of the study. It includes tools that support the best educational approach, such as dictionaries, word prediction, adjustable reading speed and spell check in 13 different languages. This makes the user self-reliant and also gives self-confidence.

How does it work

Kurzweil provides support for reading, writing and studying in a variety of ways, including:

  • Having texts read aloud | Kurzweil reads digital (school) books, texts and websites with natural sounding voices. The two-color marking in front of the word and sentence stimulates the user to actively read along.
  • Reading comprehension | The extensive dictionaries with explanations, translations, images, homophones, synonyms and example sentences help you quickly understand difficult or strange words.
  • Writing | Kurzweil reads the words aloud as you type. The word predictor supports the user in writing difficult words.
  • Studying | The mind map tool is useful for making summaries and writing down ideas in a structured way.
