Miro

Description

Miro is a digital whiteboard, in which you can work with sticky-notes, drawings and templates (such as mind maps). It is a useful tool for making summaries or for facilitating (online) group work.

For whom and why

Miro is a useful tool for all students but may be of extra interest to students who experience problems with planning and overview. With Miro you can easily create an online mind map, which is useful when creating summaries.

How does it work

  • Template | Choose a template you want to work with (such as a mind map).
  • Edit | Then you can fill in this mindmap and/or adapt it to your own preferences.
  • Add files | It is possible to upload images, pdf files, videos (from Youtube and Vimeo) to the whiteboard.
  • Share | The next step is to share your mind map, so that others can work with it. This collaboration can be both synchronous (simultaneous) and asynchronous (not simultaneous).
  • Video chat feature | The video chat feature of Miro is useful when you are working with a few people, so you do not have to use a separate video program.

Pricing

Miro offers a free basic package but offers more features with a subscription.

Language

Miro is available in English.

Type and platform

Miro is available through the website.  Miro is also an application, available for smartphones and tablets running Android and iOs.
