The On Wheels app provides information about wheelchair-accessible places.

• Cities | You can look up information about several places in Flanders: Ghent, Antwerp, Bruges, Kortrijk, Brasschaat and Tienen. 
• Practical information | Through the map you will find a wide range of practical information about different locations, such as restaurants, cafes, toilets, parking spaces, etc. Currently, about 24,000 places have been assessed for their accessibility.
• Personal institutions | The app shows all the locations that are easily accessible, after you enter the size of your wheelchair. Based on these personal settings, you'll see personal suggestions.

For whom and why

The On Wheels app is interesting for students with a physical disability in wheelchairs.

On Wheels is a non-profit organization founded by two major basic principles:

• Accessible living environment | On Wheels aims to create a more accessible living environment for people in wheelchairs through the use of modern technology. For many, improved accessibility is tantamount to greater freedom and independence.
• Raising awareness | On Wheels aims to raise awareness among young people, politics, the private sector and individuals about the needs and general living conditions that characterize an existence on wheels. 

How does it work

• Personal institutions | You enter the width of your wheelchair and the maximum height of thresholds that your wheelchair can handle. After this you can see on the map which locations may or may not be accessible to you. 
• Assessments | Users can also easily add location reviews themselves.
