Converted learning materials

The Special Education Teaching Materials Unit of the Ministry of Education and Training (Cel SOL) finances for students with a visual impairment or physical disability, conversions of the study materials. Examples are enlarged copies, (digital) braille, (digital) large print, accessible digital files. These conversions are made by specialized conversion centers (eg Braille production center, Transkript vzw).

The educational institution follows up the application with the student. This funding must be applied for every academic year. For an application, please contact the contact point of your educational institution.

As a student with dyslexia you may also need a digital version of course material and textbooks. In higher education, the educational institution applies for digital files via the Book-a-Book service service of SIHO. You don’t need to be of Belgian nationality to apply for financial support. You just have to be enrolled at your institution as a degree student.
